Services
Convert your unused MTN, Airtel or Glo airtime to cash.
Airtime to Cash (A2C) is Mabro's flagship service that lets you convert your unused mobile airtime into real money instantly. Instead of letting airtime expire on your phone, you can sell it through Mabro and receive the cash value directly in your wallet — ready to withdraw, pay bills, or spend however you choose.
Whether you have excess airtime from a promo, a gift, or simply topped up more than you need, Mabro's A2C service gives you instant liquidity at some of the best rates in Nigeria.
Rates are indicative and vary based on market conditions. The current rate and the exact amount you'll receive are shown before you confirm, in the app. The minimum you can convert is ₦200 of airtime.
Launch Mabro and tap "Airtime to Cash" from the home screen.
Enter your phone number and the amount of airtime you want to sell. The app will display the current conversion rate and the cash value you'll receive.
Review the details and confirm with your 6-digit transaction PIN.
The airtime is swapped from your line and the cash value is credited to your Mabro wallet immediately.
Enter the number and the amount, check the rate and the cash value the app shows you, then confirm with your 6-digit transaction PIN. The airtime is taken from your line and your Mabro wallet is credited straight away. MTN is capped at ₦10,000 per transfer and Airtel at ₦20,000.
Glo airtime cannot be collected from inside the app, so Glo works differently:
Because a person confirms a Glo conversion, it is not instant the way MTN and Airtel are. Everything else — the rate, the amount you will receive — works the same way.
MTN and Airtel each require a 4-digit airtime share PIN on your line before airtime can be sent. Set your own before your first conversion:
Why this matters. The networks reject transfers made with the factory default PIN, and repeated rejections can get your SIM blocked. Set a PIN of your own once, before you convert — it takes less than a minute and saves a failed first attempt.
The minimum is ₦200 of airtime. Your network's per-transfer maximum also applies: ₦10,000 on MTN, ₦20,000 on Airtel and ₦5,000 on Glo.
On MTN and Airtel the airtime is collected inside the app and your wallet is credited within seconds of confirming with your PIN. Glo is different: you send the airtime yourself and our team confirms it, so it is not instant.
MTN, Airtel and Glo. Airtime-to-cash conversion does not support 9mobile.
Enter your Glo number and amount in the app. It opens WhatsApp with your details filled in — send that message and follow the steps our team gives you. Your wallet is credited once the airtime is confirmed.
Yes, for MTN and Airtel. Both require a 4-digit share PIN on your line, and factory defaults are rejected — repeated rejections can get your SIM blocked. Dial *321# to create your own before your first conversion.
No. There is no code to dial to convert airtime to cash. On MTN and Airtel you convert inside the Mabro app; on Glo you send the airtime from your line, which our team arranges with you on WhatsApp.
Not directly. A conversion credits your Mabro wallet, not your bank. Moving money from your Mabro wallet to your own bank account is a separate step you take yourself, whenever you want.
If a conversion fails, your airtime remains intact and nothing is deducted. If your wallet was debited, the amount is reversed automatically.
Yes. You need to complete BVN verification (Tier 1 KYC) before using any transaction feature, including airtime to cash.
